This hands-on, loom weaving class is an introduction to the basics of weaving decor on a loom. No previous experience weaving is required. Students will complete at least one 8” wide x15” long weaving with a Christmas/ Holiday theme.
Included:
How to prep the loom.
Learn a variety of weaving stitches and techniques.
How to design with various yarns, fibers, and natural elements.
How to remove any art from the loom and finish it off, making it worthy of display.
All supplies are provided. You may bring your loom if you have one.
Also bring any yarns, ornament or embellishment you’d like to incorporate into your design -Smaller than 5x5” ornaments are best. However it’s not required to bring anything.

You will arrive and check in with Nome Schoolhouse Staff Tuesday October 29th by 11am. Class begins at noon and will be done for the day at 5pm.
Tuesday class will cover:
-Warping and preparing the loom.
-Basic weaving stitches and techniques.
-How to design with various yarns, fibers, and natural elements.
-Plan your weaving design.
-Begin your weaving.
Supper will be served Tuesday evening in the dining room. You will receive an itinerary when you arrive.
The Day will begin with breakfast served in the dining room at 9AM - with class beginning today at 9:30AM.
Break for lunch at noon.
After lunch return to class, which will conclude at approximately 2:30PM
Wednesday class will cover:
-Continue your weaving with ongoing individual & group instruction.
-How to remove art from the loom.
-How to finish the back
-Branch preparation.
- Final techniques making it worthy for display!
-Tips for continuing instruction outside of class.
-Begin a second weaving if time permits.
