This was my first visit to Nome Schoolhouse and also my first time taking a class there. What a great experience. The instructor for my spinning course was very knowledgeable, but also brought years of teaching experience to the table. Along with a congenial group of fellow students, it made the class a pleasure. My room was comfortable and sparkling clean. The meals were excellent. There were cool things at the store. Everyone at Nome was so friendly and helpful. I’m looking forward to going back for another crafting retreat.

I can not say enough wonderful things about the Nome Schoolhouse! From the moment you walk in the front door, you can feel the energy and excitement of the place. The staff are all very helpful and kind, the room I stayed in was quaint but modern, the food in the restaurant was EXCEPTIONAL, the weaving instruction was bar none with a small learning space perfect for one on one teaching (all my many questions were answered!), and the Schoolhouse atmosphere was a very supportive learning environment. The grounds are beautiful, and I enjoyed interacting with the animals and laying in the hammocks. Oh, and the gift shop/supply shop had wonderful products at reasonable prices. Overall, an amazing value for the money! Thank you!

This is a very special place. It was so restful. It reminded me of a time when life was slow and easy. I like the fact there are no televisions to distract you from the peaceful surroundings. The sheep and alpacas were fun to see. They come to the fence looking for treats. Did I mention that the food is great?

We had a great time! Fun project - even my 8 year old granddaughter thought it was fun - she also loved seeing the rabbits and other animals, she loves going to the Nome School House as much as I do! Food was excellent as always.

The Barn to Yarn experience was absolutely amazing! Chris is a wealth of knowledge and seeing the entire process for making yarn and roving was so cool. Plus not only did we make some cool projects we also got to take home some yarn and raw wool roving to do some additional projects. It was definitely worth the fee to attend this event.
